Approval Workflow
This section explains the approval workflow for submitting, reviewing, and publishing manifests from the Project Navigator to the CDM Library. Approval is a premium workflow and is only required when your organization enables review controls for CDM Library publication.
Approval Workflow Overview
The approval process follows these stages:
- Submit a manifest for review
- Assign reviewers
- Review and decision making
- Resolve requested changes
- Publish the manifest
1. Submit a Manifest for Review
To submit a manifest for approval:
- Right-click the manifest in the Project Navigator.
- Click
Submit for Review.
- Enter request details if required.
- Confirm submission.
After submission, the manifest becomes read-only while the request is active.
2. Assign Reviewers
Reviewers are assigned automatically or manually depending on organization settings.
You may see:
- Required reviewers — cannot be removed from the request
- Optional reviewers — may be added if allowed by organization settings
Reviewer assignment behavior depends on organization approval settings.
3. Review and Decision
Assigned reviewers evaluate the manifest and submit one of the following decisions:
- Approve — confirms the manifest is ready for publication
- Reject — closes the request and rejects publication
- Request Changes — requires updates before approval
Reviewer decisions are tracked within the request.
4. Request Changes
If changes are requested:
- Right-click the manifest in the Project Navigator.
- Click
Cancel Request.
- Update the manifest.
- Submit the manifest for review again.
Request cancellation required
A request must be cancelled before changes can be made. While a request is active, the manifest remains immutable.
5. Publish the Manifest
Once all required reviewers approve the request:
- Open the Request panel.
- Go to the SUBMITTED tab.
- Open the approved request.
- Click Publish.
The manifest is published from the Project Navigator to the CDM Library for the current organization.
6. Unpublish a Manifest
To unpublish a manifest:
- Open the CDM Library.
- Open the published manifest.
- Click Unpublish.
Only the manifest owner, Manager, or Admin users can unpublish manifests.
