Advanced Syncing Techniques
Syncing to new integrated systems
Using the Sync feature
The Sync Feature in Master Data Management (MDM) allows users to replicate data payloads previously synced to other systems to a new integrated system efficiently. Here's how you can utilize this feature:
-
Accessing the Sync Feature:
- Navigate to the MDM User Interface at
/app/integration/mdm
. - Select the "Sync New System" option.
- Navigate to the MDM User Interface at
-
Selecting Tracker Documents:
- You can filter tracker documents based on specific entities or date ranges (from/to). After applying your filters, a list of tracker documents that match your criteria will be displayed.
- Select the payloads or tracker documents you wish to synchronize with the new system.
-
Choosing the Destination System:
- Once you have selected the desired payloads, choose the target system where these payloads will be synced.
- Confirm your selection and initiate the synchronization by clicking the "Sync" button.
Note: Ensure that the new system is properly configured and integrated within the MDM to receive the payloads. Refer to Setting up the systems you want to sync for guidance on configuring new systems for integration.
Resubmitting failed sync payloads
In scenarios where synchronization between systems fails, the MDM provides a feature to resubmit these failed sync payloads. This function is crucial for maintaining data consistency across integrated systems. Here's how you can use the Resubmit Payload feature:
-
Accessing Resubmit Payload Feature:
- Navigate to the MDM User Interface using the URL
/app/integration/mdm
. - From the main menu, select the "Resubmit" option. This action leads you to the Resubmit Payload interface.
- Navigate to the MDM User Interface using the URL
-
Filtering Failed Syncs:
- In the Resubmit Payload interface, you have the option to filter the list of failed syncs. Filters can be applied based on:
- Entity type
- System involved
- Date range (from/to)
- After applying the desired filters, click the "Apply" button to update the list accordingly.
- In the Resubmit Payload interface, you have the option to filter the list of failed syncs. Filters can be applied based on:
-
Selecting Failed Payloads:
- The interface will display a list of failed sync payloads according to the filters applied.
- Review the list and select the tracker document(s) you wish to resubmit. These documents represent the payloads that failed to sync.
-
Resubmitting the Payload:
- After selecting the required tracker documents, click the "Resubmit" button.
- The system will attempt to resync the selected payloads with the designated integrated system(s).
-
Confirmation and Removal from List:
- Once the payload is successfully resynchronized, the corresponding tracker document will be removed from the list of failed sync payloads.
- This action ensures that only unresolved sync issues remain visible, allowing for a focused and efficient resolution process.
Note: It is essential to regularly monitor and address failed syncs to ensure data accuracy and consistency across all integrated systems. The Resubmit Payload feature is a tool designed to simplify and streamline this process.
